The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), which will conduct an observation mission during the snap parliamentary election that will be conducted in Armenia on December 9, has issued an interim report.

Among other findings, the report noted that the election campaign officially starts on 26 November, but early campaigning is not prohibited. However, majority of ODIHR mission’s interlocutors voiced concerns about intolerant and inflammatory rhetoric, particularly online.

Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the latest visit of Artsakh president to Russia and the recent claims voiced by Azerbaijan.

Moscow considers Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan's last visit to Russia to be a private trip, spokeswoman for MFA Maria Zakharova said.

“Azerbaijani side’s latest claims to Russia are groundless,” she added.

 Armenia has climbed by eight positions as compared to last year. Armenia has good scores on education and safety and security and poor scores on the social capital pillar.

The hearing of the complaint over former president Robert Kocharyan’s release from pre-trial detention on the grounds of immunity will continue on December 3.

Kocharyan’s defender Hayk Alumyan told the reporters at the courtroom that the session has been postponed because he failed to present the complaint.

Second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan was charged with breaching Armenia’s constitutional order during the March 1, 2008 events in Yerevan.

The first meeting of the Armenian-Russian Lazarev Club was held in Yerevan on Thursday, and was was dedicated to security and defense of Armenia and Russia in the Caucasus.

The meeting brough together famous politicians, diplomats, scientists, journalists, entrepreneurs and public figures of the two countries.

Speaking during the meeting, Russian MP Konstantin Zatulin said Russia “loves Armenia” regardless of who is ruling the country.

The participants touched upon the Karabakh issue and the security in the Caucasus.
