Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today visited Gegharkunik Province where, along with Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Vahram Dumanyan and Governor of Gegharkunik Province, he paid a visit to Secondary School #2 of Gavar and was introduced to the works for reconstruction that have been carried out.
The old building of the school was built in 1967. Base on the results of studies conducted in 2016, the building is accident-prone and hazardous for classes. Stones have fallen, and there are cracks in the walls. After the studies, a decision was made to capitally renovate the school, and construction works ended in late 2020.
The new building was built through a seismic safety improvement program carried out through the Territorial Development Fund of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. The new school building is adapted for disabled persons, has an elevator, furnished classrooms, an events hall, a gym and laboratories.
