The authorities announced that if the roads were opened, we would live well. And I wanted to know how well we will live. Opposition MP Artur Khachatryan stated this in the National Assembly of Armenia Wednesday.

He petitioned to the government to know what analyzes are available regarding the “Crossroads of Peace” project presented by the Armenian government.

"I want the government to answer: On what basis do you say that the praised ‘Crossroads of Peace,’ the opening of the railway, which you say will be beneficial, will increase the passenger flow and cargo flow? Submit those calculations," Khachatryan he said.

In response, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said: "There are such calculations that we can provide. There is an analysis and calculation made by an international organization; I don't know why we didn't give [it] to you. We can provide [it to you]. Secondly, the ‘Crossroads of Peace’ [project] is not just an economic calculation; it is a much more extensive and comprehensive project. It is not only of economic importance; it has enormous political, security importance, and regional importance."

Pashinyan added that it is the 21st century and everything is freely available.
