Poland will do everything to bring Armenia even closer to the European family; and if Armenia is interested, we are ready to help. Polish President Andrzej Duda stated this at a joint press briefing with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan Tuesday in Yerevan.

Also, Duda lauded Armenia's level of rapprochement with European civilization.

"We [i.e. Poland] highly appreciate the potential of Armenia, its history and rich culture. Armenians have made their significant contribution to the development of world culture and European civilization. We are in a good mood towards the Armenian people and the Armenian authorities. We will make every effort to bring Armenia closer to the European family," said the president of Poland.

Duda noted that Armenians have lived in Poland since the 13th century, and expressed interest in the intensification of political ties as well as cooperation in economy.

The Polish president reminded that his country will chair the Council of the European Union (EU) from 2025, and assured that Warsaw will do everything in its power for the rapprochement of Armenia and the EU.

"When we talk about the liberalization of visas, it is related also to the decisions that are made by the EU bodies, and Poland will have the opportunity to make decisions here as well. The EU is a collective body; and in order to make decisions [there], the consent of the majority of the members of the union is necessary. We [i.e. Poland] want to restore the format of the [EU] Eastern Partnership, which will be subject to changes," added the president of Poland.
