YEREVAN. – Off-parliament opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) declares that on making majority in the next parliament to May 6 elections, it will settle firstly issues, which “brought forward the robbery and selfishness of the current regime.”

“Armenian currency was devaluated against the U.S. dollar for 25 percent in March, 2009. The depositors lost over AMD 79.4 billion, while the banks lost nothing, having the support of the authorities and they compensated no loss to the depositors. The ANC will immediately establish the rights and losses of the cheated depositors, who suffered as a result of the sharp increase of the Armenian currency.

The agriculture was deteriorated in 2010, as a result of the Government’s inactivity. The taken credits were left for the farmers to pay with high percentages. The ANC, on making majority in the next parliament will grant credit amnesty to all farmers having more than 10 ha property,” the ANC statement reads.

Armenian National Congress (ANC) is an opposition bloc founded in 2008 after presidential elections. During the August 1, 2008, rally in Yerevan the first President of Armenia and ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan announced formation of the bloc. ANC comprises 18 parties and political forces.

ANC proportional list includes 119 names. It has also nominated MP candidates with the majority election system.
