YEREVAN. – With the formal decision by Armenian capital Yerevan’s Mayor Taron Margaryan, the kiosks installed at downtown’s Mashtots Park will be disassembled, the City Hall Information and Public Relations Department informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As said by the Department, with Margaryan’s decision, the authorization, which was issued to the Central Landscape Gardening Company for installing the kiosks, is declared null and void.

Pursuant to the Mayor’s decision, the Company manager is instructed to disassemble the kiosks which the Company had installed in the Park, and to carry out improvements there.

To note, a group of activists were protesting—for over two months—against the installation of kiosks at Mashtots Park. In addition, Armenia’s President and leader of the ruling coalition’s senior partner—the Republican Party of Armenia—Serzh Sargsyan, along with Mayor Taron Margaryan, toured the Park on Tuesday, and, as a result, he urged the Mayor to have the kiosks disassembled.
