VANADZOR. – For already two months a regional office of the Armenian Human Rights Defender is operating in Vanadzor city. The official opening ceremony of the office took place on Wednesday.

The head of the EU delegation, Lori Region’s Governor, the regional police chief, the Attorney General of Lori and representatives of local authorities and organizations were present at the opening ceremony.

Armenian Human Rights Defender Karen Andreasyan mentioned that among the 6 regional offices the Vanadzor office is the most active.

The Vanadzor regional office of the ombudsman as well as the other 5 regional offices were opened with the financial support of the EU and the OACE Yerevan office.
