GYUMRI. – A criminal case on hooliganism and carrying arms illegally was filed at Gyumri Police Department. As the press service of the Armenian General Prosecutor’s Office reports, on June 11, 2012 an article entitled ‘City Council member was shot at in Gyumri’ was published on aravot.am website.

According to the article, Gyumri City Council member A. Khachatryan was shot at on June 10, 2010. The preliminary investigation based on the publication showed that at 7.00 p.m. on June 10 Gyumri citizens A. Khachatryan, R. Sargsyan were caught in an argument with Gyumri citizens E. Grigoryan and G. Grigoryan on the Gyumri-Spitak road.

Shootings were heard during their argument. On June 15 a criminal case was filed on the case at Gyumri city’s police department. Preliminary investigation is underway. To note, Khachatryan is a member of the Gyumri City Council.
