STEPANAKERT. – The Nagorno-Karabakh authorities have got no applications so far from the Syrian-Armenians on moving to the Karabakh territory from Syrian Armenians, Nagorno-Karabakh President’s Spokesperson David Babayan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“Anyway we are ready to cooperate with our compatriots from Syria,” Babayan said.
To note, over 50,000 Armenians live in Syria. Part of them left the country due to military actions in Syria, who headed to neighboring states and Armenia as well. According to some data, the flow of the Armenians from Syria carries a temporary character and the Armenian population will return to their homes after the military actions end. At the same time, experts claim that one-quarter of the Syrian-Armenians intend to move from the country.
