YEREVAN. – I am running in Armenia’s forthcoming presidential vote by already announcing that I will resign from office after a certain period of time. Presidential candidate, opposition National Self-Determination Union Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan said this during a press conference on Thursday.   

In his words, the people of Armenia want but one thing: that the presidential contenders unite and form a united front to carry out their announced objectives.   

“There are several options for this; [and] I am not planning on ruling the country on my own. I will carry out all the reforms that are included in my [election] program within six months to two years, then I will resign,” Hayrikyan said.
