Turkish press confirmed, on February 28, the information on the archeologists’ discovery of a mass grave of Armenians at the historical Zerzevan Fortress in Turkey.

It is reported that the archeologists found dozens of human bones in the area which is located between Diyarbakir and Mardin Provinces.

The initial media reports had noted that the bones belonged to criminals who were put to death in the 1990s.

Sometime thereafter, however, most of the media declined from the initial hypothesis, Orthodoxy.ru reports citing Linga.

The results of the forensic examination of the dead people’s bones that were found confirmed that these people had died in the 1920s.

Zerzevan Fortress is known to be a place where hundreds of Armenians were killed during the Armenian Genocide.
