OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair James Warlick said, “The helicopter incident can be considered a tragedy for both sides,” reported APA news agency of Azerbaijan.

“We are trying to prevent this type of incidents and protect the dialogue. There occur frequent incidents that bring about tension. This in turn undermines the negotiation process. We call on both sides to show restraint and focus on issues of the settlement process,” Warlick also stated.

Answering a question about whether or not the Armenian and the Azerbaijani presidents’ meeting would take place in the near future, the diplomat said he has no information about it: “But such a meeting is probable. We’ll hold talks in this regard. If the presidents arrive at a decision in this respect, we’re ready to offer our support,” he added.

And when asked whether he keeps up with the issue of the Azerbaijani saboteurs who are standing trial in Nagorno-Karabakh, James Warlick said, “I can’t comment on this issue. The ICRC is dealing with it. We must wait to see how this affair is going to develop.”
