RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan paid a working visit to Kotayk. He first arrived in Marmarik, where he was informed of the construction of a reservoir and discussed the project details. 

The reservoir will help to save electric energy and resolve irrigation problems in the region. Responding to journalists’ questions, the Premier said: “The reservoir is of high importance. It will enable us to control the consumption of water from Lake Sevan. On the other hand, we will enhance the energy system’s efficiency. We will use less electric energy and direct it where it is needed more. The Marmarik reservoir will enhance the efficiency of our water economy and save funds.”

The 4.6bn AMD construction project is being implemented under the WB Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP).

Premier Tigran Sargsyan also visited Aghveran, where he attended the opening ceremony of the Aghveran hotel.
