The 1,056 new flats that have been put into service in Gyumri are free of any defects.

“I have had no home since the earthquake. I have since lived in a temporary lodging, without water, without toilet without anything,” says Ashkhen Muradyan. She is one of the new tenants.

RA President Serzh Sargsyan attended the ceremony in the Mush-2 district. He visited three families and congratulated them on their new homes.

Twenty-two residential buildings have been put into service in the Mush-2 neighborhood. Pursuant to the President’s order, the flats have been provided with gas stoves, shower cabins and heating.

“Even amid the global economic crisis, when many countries had to reduce social expenditures, our government was able to find the funds, and construction has never stopped in the disaster zone,” RA Minister of Urban Development Vardan Vardanyan said at the ceremony.

Late last year, RA President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Mush-2 neighborhood to follow the process of construction carried out by the Glendale Hills Company. The President was discontent with the quality of work and ordered the defects to be repaired. Glendale Hills Director Vahe Almoyan, who attended the ceremony, pointed out all the defects were repaired.
