YEREVAN. – The Moscow State University (MSU) branch in Armenia will decide its tuition fee, Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Ashotyan recalled, however, that there are limits on tuition fees for the resident university students in Armenia. But these limitations do not apply for non-resident students and the institutions of higher education—such as the MSU—that are on the list of the world’s top 200 universities.

“I can’t say what [tuition] fees the MSU [in Armenia] will set, but it will be entitled to set a higher fee than expected,” the minister explained.

An agreement was signed in Moscow on February 20, and with respect to the terms for opening an MSU branch in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.
