Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) of Turkey received 10 per cent more votes during the parliamentary elections [held on June 7], since it showed that it’s interested in the whole country’s problems, Ara Gochunyan, editor-in-chief of the Istanbul-based Zhamanak newspaper, told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to him, during the whole period of the agitation campaign the Kurdish party kept stating and proved that they are concerned not only with Kurdish problems.

“The Kurdish party wants to become one which is interested in solving the problems of entire Turkey, both economic and social. I think, it’s thanks to this that the Kurdish party received so many votes,” he said.

It is the first time the Kurdish party has made its way into Turkey’s parliament.
