Relatives of the slain Avetisyan family are planning to hold a protest tomorrow demanding to hold the trial against the Russian soldier Valery Permyakov in the court of general jurisdiction of Armenia's Shirak province instead of the Russian military base.  Hasmik Avetisyan's sister, Julietta Jalayan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

"Being present at the Russian base is beyond our power; it's a stress for us. We want the case to be heard in our court so that we know that we aren't being mocked at," Julietta said.

The Avetisyans' relatives will march to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Shirak province and demand a meeting with the presiding judge. They are also going to boycott the next court hearing, and say that they are even ready to take extreme measures.

The hearing is scheduled for January 18.

Six members of the Avetisyan family—including a two-year-old girl—were shot dead, and a six-month-old baby—Seryozha Avetisyan—was wounded in their house in Gyumri on January 12, 2015; but the baby boy died in hospital one week later.

Valery Permyakov, a serviceman of the 102nd Russian Military Base in the city, is charged with these murders.

Armenia and Russia instituted criminal cases on charges of murder and military desertion, respectively.

On August 12, the Russian court sentenced Permyakov to ten years in prison.

And on October 16, Armenia formally brought criminal charges against the Russian soldier.

The respective trial began on December 18.
