In the context of worsening Russian-Turkish relations, difficulties have arisen in air, land, and sea transport, Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communication Binali Yıldırım stated.

He argued that it was wrong to halt everything because of one incident, according to Dünya daily newspaper of Turkey.

“[But] I believe that Turkey-Russia relations will be normalized in the near future,” Yıldırım added.

In November 2015, the Turkish air force shot down a Russian Su-24 attack aircraft/interdictor nearby the Turkish-Syrian border. The warplane was taking part in the antiterrorism operations in Syria. This incident led to the ongoing strain in Turkey-Russia relations.
