YEREVAN. – Since early morning representatives of the Armenian Ombudsman’s office have been visiting police stations where protesters were taken following the clashes on Friday evening.

There are reports of illegal detention and use of violence, the Ombudsman’s office said in a statement.

In some cases lawyers are prevented to see their clients, which is a grave violation of law. In addition some detainees were banned from using their mobile phones.
