YEREVAN. – A survey was conducted in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh), and 99.4 percent of respondents stated that they will not make any concessions in the Karabakh conflict, and that they are ready to defend their land until the end.

Tevan Poghosyan, secretary of the opposition “Heritage” Faction of the National Assembly of Armenia, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Friday.

In his words, such a survey should be conducted in Armenia, too.

“The diplomatic negotiations [on resolving this conflict] have reached an impasse, and the Vienna arrangements [between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan] are not implemented,” stressed Poghosyan. “The problem will not be solved unless the NKR sits at the negotiating table.

“It needs to be understood that we [i.e. the Armenian parties to the conflict] face an enemy [i.e. Azerbaijan] that dreams of resolving the matter by force. We must be ready for this, and strengthen our security.”

As per the MP, the Armenian parties to the conflict need to increase the combat-readiness of the army, and develop the economy and demographics so that no one dares to dictate its terms upon the Armenian side.
