YEREVAN. - Seven metric references of regional significance will appear in Armenia.

Armenian Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments, Emil Tarasyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am, commenting on the implementation of the World Bank’s Trade Promotion and Quality Infrastructure program.

The program aims to increase the quality of local production. To this end, among other things, quality benchmarks on a number of key parameters - mass, pressure, temperature, length, etc. - will be obtained.

By contrast, there are two of such references in neighboring Georgia, he noted.

“These devices will help develop our production, including in area of precise engineering. This will be of strategic significance to us both in terms of industry and engineering education,” Tarasyan said.

The overall value of the program, which will be implemented from 2014 to 2020, is $59.5 mln, $50 mln out of which will be contributed by the World Bank.
