OSCE plans to strengthen the fight against Islamic terrorism. Military actions against IS are not enough, we need more preventive measures, said the Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz, who in early 2017 assumed the OSCE presidency, reports DW.

“We have over 10,000 people in the OSCE countries that have gone to to Iraq and Syria to support Islamic State terrorism..., "said Kurtz, pointing out that they pose a large threat after their return. According to him, 57 OSCE countries should exchange their experience on deradicalization programs.

Peter Neumann is appointed as the new special envoy of terrorism issues. In addition, Austria considers it necessary to restore the confidence between East and West.
