The beaches of Antalya, which is considered the main summer resort city of Turkey, are filled with gold seekers, after powerful storms and heavy rainfall.

Those searching for gold jewelry at the famous beaches of Antalya—and with metal detectors—say, however, they do not damage the sands of the beaches, and they just collect the gold jewelry which tourists had lost in summer, according to Milliyet daily of Turkey.

One such “collector” noted that he found jewelry worth US$1,000 at the beaches, over the course of the last five days. 

“Searching for lost gold at the beaches has become something like a disease,” he added.
