YEREVAN. – The Armenian Church on Saturday celebrates the feast of the birth of St. John the Baptist. 

The respective Divine Liturgy in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan was served at the St. John the Baptist Church.

In addition, those who are named Hovhannes (John), Karapet, and Mkrtich (Baptist) were blessed during this church service.

“The feast is of great importance to us [Christians], since it was St. John the Baptist who first heralded the Coming of Jesus,” the church pastor, Fr. Tirayr Sahradyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
