Migrant workers from the other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member countries can benefit from health insurance in Russia.

Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC)—which is the executive body of the  EAEU—Board member and Minister in charge of the Development of Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC, Tatiana Valovaya, noted the above-said at a press conference on Monday.

In her words, this procedure has entered into force on January 1, and for those that work in Russia on the basis of work contracts.

Accordingly, the other EAEU member countries’ citizens who work in Russia can receive guarantees for free medical care, and on the same grounds as Russian citizens.

Valovaya added that one of the EAEU’s objectives is to create conditions for free movement of labor, and therefore to create general conditions for work.

The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
