The US is preparing for the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, which will be held on Friday in Washington D.C.

About 1 million people from various US states are expected to attend the ceremony. They include Trump supporters as well as his opponents, who have been permitted to hold a protest march on the same day. Around 270 thousand people will take part in the protest.

Around 28 thousand law enforcement officers will oversee security at the event.
