Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communication of Turkey, Ahmet Arslan, has made a new announcement regarding the deadline for the operation of the new railway that will bypass Armenia.

Arslan noted that the Baku (Azerbaijan)-Tbilisi (Georgia)-Kars (Turkey) railway will be ready in two months, according to Milliyet daily of Turkey.

The minister added that, once reaching the Azerbaijan capital city of Baku, this railway will branch out as two more railways, and transport cargo to China and Central Asia.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is being built on the initiative of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Although the initial construction budget was planned to be about $300 million, it already has passed $1 billion.
