The United States is ready to work with Russian in the sphere of common interests, but Moscow must fulfill its obligations in regard to Ukraine. This was announced by the US Secretary Rex Tillerson after his meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, reports Reuters.
Tillerson announced, that Washington is ready to work with Russia, but will stand up for its interests in areas where there are differences.
“Where we do not see eye to eye, the United States will stand up for the interests and values of America and her allies," he said.
" As we search for new common ground we expect Russia to honour its commitment to the Minsk agreements and work to de-escalate violence in Ukraine," said Tillerson. He called the meeting with Lavrov as productive. However, he didn’t disclose any details.
