Azerbaijani citizen Elnur Huseynzade, who is in custody in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh), does not complain about his confinement conditions, his attorney Arkadi Israyelyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The legal representative noted that he met twice with his client. “We communicate through an interpreter,” informed Israyelyan. He added that his client does not speak Russian to the extent to get familiarized with the indictment.

When asked whether the detainee has complaints regarding his confinement conditions, the attorney responded: “There are no complaints. If there are, we definitely will notify in writing.”

NKR Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) Ruben Melikyan, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) representatives, and Karabakh human rights activists already have met with Huseynzade.

On February 1, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched a reconnaissance infiltration attempt at the line of contact between the Karabakh and Azerbaijani opposing forces.

But the NKR Defense Army vanguards took preventive actions and drew the adversary back, making it suffer casualties.

And as a result of an anti-sabotage operation, the Artsakh defense forces protecting the frontline managed to capture Azerbaijani army soldier Elnur Huseynzade, who was born in Barda, Azerbaijan, in 1995.
