The former IMF chief Rodrigo de Rato has been sentenced to 4.5 years’ imprisonment in Spain on the accusation of misusing Bankia bank's corporate credit cards, reports BBC. 

The court found Rato guilty of embezzling funds, when he was the president of the bank's financial group. 66 people in Spain undergo trials in the same case. According to the investigator, the accused spent 12 million euros on the credit cards for personal purposes.
