MOSCOW. - Russia is sincerely interested in the stable, independent and dynamically developing Armenia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin told the aforementioned after the meeting with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan in Moscow on Wednesday.

Noting that parliamentary elections will soon be held in Armenia, Putin stated that the Armenian authorities and personally Serzh Sargsyan are exerting great efforts so that the election campaign, as well as the voting and vote counting process are held on a free and democratic basis.

In his words, the relations between Moscow and Yerevan are of a genuinely friendly and ally nature. “Very soon, on April 3, we will mark an important date—the 25th anniversary of the establishment of [our] diplomatic relations. Russia and Armenia sincerely strive for strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation and comprehensive strategic partnership,” Putin said.
