YEREVAN. - Armenian PM Karen Karapetyan was handed a souvenir at the meeting with voters in Achapnyak administrative district of Yerevan Friday.

Listening to the convincing request of a middle-aged woman to accept the gift as a sign of respect and trust, Karapetyan thanked her, at the same time expressing doubt as to whether accepting a gift during the election campaign wouldn’t be a violation.

“Thanks a lot for the attention. Only I don’t know whether it is allowed to accept gifts during an election campaign. Giving a gift is banned: it is considered as a bribe. As to accepting…Minister of Justice [Arpine Hovhannisyan] is here and she says this is not a violation. Well, then thanks,” he said.
