YEREVAN. – Free Democrats Party [of Armenia] has always been—and is—a supporter of a civilized, platform-based and ideological debate, said party vice-chairperson and MP candidate Anzhela Khachatryan, in a statement of clarification.
“It is astonishing that Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan, who heads the RPA [i.e. the ruling Republican Party of Armenia] [proportional representation] list [for Sunday’s parliamentary election], has inaccurate information regarding the abovementioned debate.
“The Free Democrats Party received an invitation (…) for participation in a TV debate (…), and we responded [positively] to both invitations, immediately upon receiving the invitation.
“Sadly, some political forces running in the elections have refused to participate in the debate, for unknown reason,” Khachatryan also noted, in particular.
