GYUMRI. – The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Vigen Sargsyan, on Sunday paid a visit to Freedom Fighters’ Pantheon in Gyumri, and paid tribute to the Armenians that fell during the four-day war which Azerbaijan had unleashed in early April 2016.

“We all commemorate the heroic boys, all those who tied their life with laying the free and secure foundation of our country in the Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh] fight for freedom; subsequently, in the days of the four-day [war] in April,” Sargsyan told reporters. “The biggest lesson of April became our unity, the consolidation of our people, our volunteers’ manifestation of firmly standing with our armed forces, the unconditional support by our brothers and sisters in the diaspora, [and] the spontaneous and very powerful reaction by our youth. In April, we [Armenians] became stronger because in April, we recalled the message of being united.”
