Senator Edward Markey urged President Donald Trump to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
Markey said that past Republicans, including former President Ronald Reagan have described the mass killing as genocide, Associated Press reported.
Massachusetts is home to a large Armenian community and includes the genocide in its public school curriculum.
