YEREVAN. – Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian on Thursday received the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Motome Takisawa.

First, Nalbandian noted that Armenian-Japanese relations have developed steadily within the 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Takisawa, in turn, stressed that the Japanese authorities highly appreciate their friendly relations with Armenia and intend to expand them.

Subsequently, the interlocutors discussed the avenues for making bilateral cooperation grow deeper, and underscored the effective Armenian-Japanese parliamentary collaboration.

Also, they reflected on cooperation in several domains, and FM Nalbandian thanked Japan for its assistance in the development of Armenia.

The prospects for visa facilitation between Armenia and Japan also was conferred on at the talk.

Separately, Edward Nalbandian briefed Motome Takisawa on the efforts to pacifically resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and expressed satisfaction with Japan’s balanced position in this regard.

The interlocutors discussed urgent international matters, too.
