YEREVAN. - Last year’s April escalation showed that the Armenian servicemen in trenches are currently ready for everything, said modest graduate of the Law Department of the Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University, participant of the Four Day April War in the Karabkh conflict zone, Sargis Khachatryan, who along with 20 other graduates received a diploma from the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) President Bako Sahakyan on Monday.

The 24-year-old contract serviceman is from Artik town of Armenia’s Shirak province. “I have been serving in Karvachar for already 5 years and took part in the Four Day April War. I was in Talish village then. Our new military task is to draw back the adversary to the jumpoff positions,” Sargis stresses.

Asked why he decided to become a contract serviceman, Sargis noted that this was transferred to him by genes: both his grandfather and father are servicemen.

“And I continue their work,” Sargis says proudly. The heroes of last year’s April events, volunteer Hrach Muradyan, contract servicemen Vrezh Sargsyan, Harutyun Abrahamyan and Argishti Gaboyan were Sargis’ military friends.
