The CSTO Collective Security Council will adopt a statement on Karabakh, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said speaking at a joint meeting of the Foreign Ministers, defense ministers and secretaries of the Security Council in Minsk.

The ministers touched upon the implementation of the decision made during the meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Treaty Organization in Yerevan in 2016.

The meeting participants approved drafts of more than two dozen documents, which were included in the agenda of the Council in the afternoon.

The meeting discussed issues of coordinating the foreign policy of the CSTO countries, developing military and technical cooperation, information security, fighting terrorism. The latest developments in Syria and the Middle East were on the agenda. CSTO Secretary General Yury Khachaturov briefed the participants on the current activities of the organization.

Speaking on behalf of the Armenian delegation, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian touched on the quarter-century path of cooperation the organization, stressing that the further actions were envisaged in the Concept of the CSTO Development till 2025 that was adopted last year in Yerevan.

Minister Nalbandian introduced to his colleagues the draft statement of the Council on the Karabakh issue that was initiated by Armenia. As a result of the meeting, a number of documents related to the development of cooperation within the framework of the CSTO were signed.
