The US Consulate General in Russian regions will resume issuing visas from December 11, U.S. Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman told Kommersant.

According to the website of the US embassy in Russia, the consulates will offer limited interviews for visas.

“We continue to operate with a significantly reduced staff, and that inevitably means less capacity for visa services,” the statement said.

The embassy said Russian nationals can apply for visas to the consulates in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok.

U.S. consulates in Russian regions have stopped issuing visas since August 23. The issue of documents resumed on September 1 in Moscow.

Complications with the issuance of American visas began after a diplomatic row between Russia and the United States.

Russian authorities demanded to reduce the number of diplomats from the United States to 455 people on July 28. The State Department suspended the execution of documents in Russia, and also demanded to close the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco and Trade Missions in Washington and New York. The dispute over Russia's diplomatic property in the US still continues.
