Sirri Sakik, MP of the only pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party, touched upon discussions on the notion of “democratic autonomy” recently held by the Kurdish activists.

On his Twitter blog, the MP wrote that project of democratic autonomy is not a separatist one, it is a project providing everyone with an opportunity to live in accordance with his identity, Vatan reported.

“It is a humane project according to which Turk will live like Turk, Kurd like Kurd, Armenian like Armenian, while Laz like Laz. It does not contradict the spirit of the Turkish Republic. Mustafa Kemal also used to speak about it in the1920s,” the MP said.
