YEREVAN. - The Armenian-Georgian good neighborly relations continued to develop and strengthen in 2017, Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in an annual report summing up 2017. Mutual visits and top-level contacts had active character.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan paid an official visit to Georgia on December 25-26. A new customs checkpoint was opened in Bavra  with the participation of the Armenian president and first vice-premier of Georgia, Dimitri Kumsishvili on October 2.

On February 23-24, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan paid an official visit to Georgia. The mutual visits of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Georgia and Armenia Irakli Kobakhidze and Ara Babloyan were held.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze paid a working visit to Armenia in April and September.

Heads of Foreign Ministries of the two countries also held meetings in Tbilisi, within the framework of the visit of the Armenian President, in New York - in the framework of the plenary session of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly and in Vienna - within the framework of the 24th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the participating countries and observers of OSCE.

Georgia was also visited by the ministers of agriculture, health, economic development and investment, emergency situations, justice, transport, chairman of the State Committee for Tourism.
