Israel is preparing to build a dividing wall along its border with Lebanon, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said in a statement he made after meeting with UN coordinator for Lebanon Pernille Kardel.

Aun said Israel has recently resorted to creating an infrastructure for the construction of a separation wall in the eastern and western sectors on the U.N.-designated Blue Line, RIA Novosti reported.

Lebanon believes that the Blue Line does not correspond to the international border between Lebanon and the Palestinian territories, he added.

Israel first started construction of a concrete wall on the Lebanese border back in 1948 and still creates lines of defense around its settlements.
