The recent meeting of Turkish National Security Council focused on the recent initiative of the Kurdish “Peace and Democracy” Party, as well as the problems of Iraq and Cyprus.

The statement gave a strict assessment to the Kurdish Party, which finds it necessary to establish autonomy in southeastern provinces of Turkey as part of the country. According to the initiative, along with the Turkish language, Kurdish will also be used.

“No initiative aimed at changing the concept “one flag, one nation, one homeland, one state” and change of a state language will be accepted,” the council said in a statement.

The Security Council also discussed the Iraq issue, stressing on December 21, a government was formed in Iraq.

Referring to the Cyprus issue, the participants of the meeting accused the Greek side of creating obstacles to resolving the problem.
