UK’s withdrawal from the EU will cause a budget hole for the remaining 27 members, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said.
Speaking at a press conference with Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Merkel acknowledged that not all EU members share Berlin's readiness to increase contributions to the Brussels cash desk after Bexit.
According to Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, Sweden, Austria, Finland, Denmark do not want to pay more for membership.
To compensate for Brexit, the EU member states need to find between 12 and 15 billion euros.
