Presidential candidate, incumbent leader Vladimir Putin, has already voted in the presidential election of Russia, reported Interfax news agency.

Just as in the 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012 elections, Putin cast his ballot at the election precinct in the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Leaving the polling station after casting his vote, Vladimir Putin said he would consider any percentage of the ballots he will garner as a success.

Eight candidates are running for the office of President of Russia.
