YEREVAN. – A revolution has not taken place yet in Armenia, but, most importantly, the incumbent authorities have assumed an obligation to hold fair and transparent elections, and therefore this is the test of these authorities.

Zaruhi Postanjyan, chairperson of the Yerkir Tsirani (Apricot Country) Party and the latter’s mayoral candidate in Sunday’s snap election for the capital city Yerevan Council of Elders, told about the above-said to reporters, after voting in the election.

“We are waiting for how these authorities will take the test,” she noted. “The levers, by which electoral fraud shall be prevented, are in their hand. Also, this is the test of us all. We have no right to repeat the mistakes which had been for a quarter century.”

“It’s desirable that all political forces have the people’s vote, confidence,” Postanjyan added. “There are people in all [electoral] lists who are an able force, caring for Yerevan. I would like for us all to be represented, and our presence would be through diversity, and through consolidation of the forces of us all.

“You need to have a very competitive government that can be composed of the best representatives of the nation.

“It’s crystal-clear that the processes that were in the past are irrevocable.”
