YEREVAN. – The trial of the criminal case involving Hayk Sargsyan, the nephew of Armenia’s third President Serzh Sargsyan, has resumed Wednesday at the capital city Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction.

Hayk Sargsyan is charged with crimes that were committed eleven years ago; namely, attempted murder, and illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.

Davit Simonyan, who had testified against Sargsyan, also is in the courtroom.

On September 10, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction had granted the motion by Hayk Sargsyan’s attorney, and ruled that Sargsyan could be released on bail. And once the respective AMD 50mn (approx. US$103,000) bail was posted, he was released from a Yerevan prison.
