Neil Prakash, the Melbourne man who became a recruiter for ISIS, has been stripped of his Australian citizenship, the Guardian reported.

“Dual citizens who choose to be involved in terrorism forfeit the privileges of Australian citizenship, and I remain committed to enforcing the legal provisions that remove them,” the home affairs minister Peter Dutton said in a statement on Saturday.

Australia is demanding the extradition of Prakash from Turkey. However, extradition will take place following the completion of the criminal proceedings in Turkey, as he faces imprisonment after he was arrested near the border with Syria in 2016 for attempting to enter Turkey with fake documents.

Prakash earlier acknowledged that he is an ISIS member.
