Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Iranian Majlis speaker Ali Larijani  in Tehran, the Armenian government's press service reported.

Larijani welcomed the delegation led by Nikol Pashinyan to Iran and expressed confidence that it would promote the further development of political and economic relations between the two states.

The sides highly assessed bilateral friendly relations between the countries.

The sides considered the necessity of continuous strengthening of economic cooperation and highlighted the expansion of ties between the parliaments of the two countries. In this regard, the sides highlighted the necessity of the development of relations between the parliaments’ committees.

According to them, the cooperation of the legislative bodies also contributes to the further strengthening of Armenian-Iranian relations.

Nikol Pashinyan expressed satisfaction with the results of the meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rohani, highlighting that the Armenian side is interested in implementing the deals reached in the economic sphere, which will give new impetus to bilateral relations.

According to the speaker, there are great opportunities for development of cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats. In this context, the importance of the free trade agreement between Eurasian Union and Iran and the ratification of the document by the parliaments were mentioned.
