YEREVAN. – Co-rapporteurs from the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will arrive in Armenia this week.

Edmon Marukyan, Chairman of the Bright Armenia Party (BAP) and head of the Bright Armenia faction in parliament, noted the aforesaid in a Facebook post.

He wrote that Yuliya Lovochkina (Ukraine, SOC) and Andrej Šircelj (Slovenia, EPP/CD), PACE co-rapporteurs for the monitoring of obligations and commitments by Armenia, will make a fact-finding visit to capital city Yerevan, from Tuesday to Thursday.

As per Marukyan, discussions will focus mainly on recent political developments and the priorities of the new government, as well as democratic and social reform in Armenia.

He added that the co-rapporteurs are due to meet the President, Speaker of Parliament and Prime Minister, as well as the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Justice, and Labor and Social Affairs.

As per the BAP leader, talks are also scheduled with the Prosecutor General, head of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Ombudsperson, and head of the Special Investigation Service of Armenia, and the Catholicos of All Armenians.

Also, Edmon Marukyan noted that in parliament, the co-rapporteurs are due to meet with the heads of the parliamentary committees dealing with human rights and public affairs, and with state and legal affairs, as well as to hold individual meetings with the leaders of parliamentary factions in Armenia.
